About Watermark PDF
Watermarking a PDF is one of those things every shared document needs eventually — a draft stamp, a confidentiality notice, a logo, an authorship mark. pdfmundo's Watermark tool lets you place text or an image anywhere on the page, drag it to the exact spot, set the rotation and opacity, or tile it across every page in a repeating pattern. The killer feature: a live preview that updates as you drag. Most online watermark tools make you submit blind and download to check the result. We render it on the actual page in real time. Like every pdfmundo tool, the work happens entirely in your browser — your PDF never travels to a server.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I drag the watermark to position it?
- Yes — that's the whole point. The preview shows the actual first page of your PDF, and the watermark element is draggable. Drag it anywhere on the page; the rest of the form (rotation, opacity, color) updates in real time too.
- Can I use my logo as the watermark?
- Yes. Switch to Image mode and upload a PNG or JPEG (up to 2 MB). The same drag, position, rotation, and opacity controls apply.
- What's tile mode?
- Tile mode repeats the watermark across the page in a grid — useful for diagonal DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL stamps that fill every page. Density choices are 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4. Rotation defaults to 45° when you turn it on.
- Can I watermark only some pages?
- Yes — choose Every page, First page only, All except first, or a custom range like 1-3, 5, 7-9.
- Is the preview exactly what I'll get?
- Very close, but not pixel-perfect. The preview uses CSS to render the watermark; the final PDF uses pdf-lib's text rendering. Position and size will match within a point or two; for image mode they're nearly identical.
- Will the watermark cover existing content?
- It's drawn on top of the page content. Set opacity below 100% to make underlying content readable through it.
- What's the maximum file size?
- 50 MB on the free tier. Larger files (up to 200 MB) are supported on Pro.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The tool is completely free to use without signing up.
